ROBERT SUTHERLAND of Victoria in the Colony

of Hong Kong, Shipping Manager to Messrs. Jardine,

Matheson & Co.,Ltd. General Managers Indo China

Steam Navigation Co.,Ltd. solemnly and sincerely

declare and say as follows :-

I am a natural born British subject having been born at

Birkenhead of British parents.

I am a householder in, and a Justice of Peace for the

Colony of Hong Kong

AND

I have read the Memorial and Petition of Charles William

Falk for a Certificate of Naturalisation dated this day and say that from my own personal knowledge the said Charbes William Falk has been in the employ of the said Indo China Steam Navigation Co.,Ltd. for a period of eight years,

I am able to testify to the facts hereinneet forth for

the reason that I have myself continuously met and talked to the said Charles William Falk for upwarde of the period of eight years last mentioned.

I am not connected with the said Charles William Falk

except as the head of the Shipping Department under which the said Charles William Falk is employed.

The said Charles William Falk has always borne a good

Character and I verily believe that not only are the statements contained in his Memorial and Petition true in every respect but also that he has ever entertained in this Colony, and still entertaine, feelings of loyalty towards the British Crown,

I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing

the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of the

Statutory Declarations Act 1835.
